20 Incredible Ibiza Photos That Will Inspire You to Go There

Spain doesn’t feature much on this blog. I’ve fallen in love with Valencia, and discovered just how much was on offer for free in Madrid. But when friends have showed me their Ibiza photos, full of animal face-paint and crowded beaches – well I didn’t think the island would be for me.

But when the owners of Amistat Beach Hostel invited me to experience Ibiza with them, ahead of the opening of their new hostel in 2017, I was determined to arrive with an open mind! Their enthusiasm was infectious. And as it happens… so is Ibiza.

Second to its famous club scene, Ibiza is famous for the hippy era that has persisted since the 1970s.

In my last article on the Ibiza Hippy Markets, I decided to share my photos in black and white. But the truth is the markets are bursting with vibrant colours.

Even the streets of Ibiza are clad in rainbow chiffon.

And if you’re not visiting the famous hippy markets, there’s still plenty of street-side boutique stores to indulge in a bit of colourful shopping.

The pink flowers aren’t just found on clothing. Here’s a few hanging off a beautiful church we found in the middle of nowhere…

And a few more flowers, just as beautiful, framing a street-side café in old town Eivissa.

Watching the sunset from the pontoon at the end of Eivissa on our final night was one of my favourite memories. There was myself, two other from our film crew, and a receptionist from the upcoming hostel who had taken time out to come and meet us.

But I can’t talk of the colours of Ibiza without sharing the beaches. They were pretty crowded, but you can see why. Just look at that clear water!

I love being able to walk to the beach from wherever I am in a destination. But I would make an exception for a few nights here in Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera.

For a small central Ibizan village, it has so many quaint restaurants and bohemian shops. Which is perhaps why so many European artists have settled here over the years.

A trip to Ibiza wouldn’t be complete without a road trip. Public transport is great, but so many of the gems are hidden along winding island roads.

Three of my favourite gems included this incredible burger bar, this little white house (can it be mine one day?!) and this stunning view of the magical isle of Es Vedra. Which I’ll be telling you all about soon…
