Okay, so I know this blog is called the hostel girl, but when the girls and I got chatting last night about a reunion and where we should go I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out AirBNB for the first time. As I was browsing the Lake District I came upon a hilarious listing called a Yurt which looked like a cross between something you’d stay in on a glamping trip and a tea cosy. After some careful research (Google & Wikipedia) it turns out a Yurt is:
a portable, bentdwelling structure traditionally used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia as their home. Source – Wikipedia
Pretty cool! So then my mind started to wander and I started doing some digging to see what other cool listings I could find! Below is my list of the best five! Click the names to see the original listing! All photos are sourced from AirBnb.
As some of the weirdest listings are waaaaay out of my own price range, I only chose those which were in line with what I’d pay per person for a night at a hostel. Those above £50 for example are fine as they bed 2+ people so costs can be shared per person! Enjoy!
5 Of The Quirkiest (& Cheapest) Listings on AirBNB
1. Ronan’s Tree House Kinvara, Galway – from £16 a night
2. Vintage Van, Iceland – from £33 a night
3. Charming Caravan, France – from £74 a night
4. Eco-Lodge Brejeira Yurt, Portugal – from £50 a night
5. Mushroom Dome Cabin – from £67 a night
What do you think of these? The campervan in Iceland is definitely my favourite!
If you know of any other quirky, yet cheap(!), listings we should know about, let us know in the comments!
Lots of love,
