Every year on this blog, since since 2014, I have documented a year of travel in 50 photos. What began as a collection of poor quality iPhone photos has now transformed into a carefully curated photo journal of my year of travel.
These photos not only help me see how my photography has developed. They act as reminders for some of my favourite memories. Like this year, when I spent two days in the snowy mountains of Greece for Christmas. Or when it snowed in Amsterdam! Then there’s the time I took a street art tour of Rome on a scooter! And the day I finally discovered the abandoned railway that loops around the centre of Paris.
But I’d also love to hear about your memories.
Feel free to leave a comment at the end of this post, and tell me about some of your favourite moments of 2017.
So without further ado, here is my 2017…

Gorgeous photos! You saw so many incredible things this past year.
Glad you like the photos Emily – it was a great year 🙂 Checking out your best reads now! 😀
Lovely photos Katie, wonderful year of travelling for you
It really was! Glad you like the photos 🙂
I love these photos! I’ve heard so much good about the Sony mirrorlesses, maybe I’ll have to get one after my Olympus mirrorless gives out… (Which probably won’t be long, seeing how I treat the poor thing, haha). Do you have a wide angle lens for these shots?
Hi Elina! I’m glad you like the photos… your photo journal from Rauma is also so beautiful! The skies there are fantastic! I love my Sony… but I’ve also heard great things about the Olympus. You’ll have to write a comparison of them if you end up going for the Sony mirrorless 🙂 No wide angle lens for these… just the regular kit lens 🙂 Happy New Year!
Oh! my this shots are awesome!
These photos are all so beautiful, I’m trying to figure out which one is my favourite but I can’t do it! I’ve got some serious wanderlust for Rome now. I’ve wanted to see it for years but it always seems so busy and I feel like I’d have to do a lot of getting up early to avoid the crowds, and I am a terrible morning person.
Haha me too Rosie!! If you’re a crowd hater (like me) then Winter is really the best time to visit – January especially. The summer months are the busiest and the hottest which can make the whole experience a little less enjoyable. My advice would be to come for a week next January (that way you have plenty of days to explore incase it rains for one or two of them). And you can also get an early night on night to get up early for the Trevi, and not feel like you’re losing a night in the city because you have a whole week! 🙂
