When someone mentions The Hague in The Netherlands, chances are your first thoughts surround the International Peace Conference, and other governmental topics that are synonymous with the country’s governmental city.
You probably wouldn’t expect to find an awesome Cuban bar in the middle of a city associated with clogs, peace, and cheese.
Walking up to Havana Den Haag, I was trying to decide whether to see what the bar held in store, or head for a coffee in the café next door. The deciding factor was that the outside seating was covered, whereas the seating at the coffee shop was wet, so I figured one midday cocktail wouldn’t hurt too much. Best decision all day.
I’ve done my fair bit of time behind a bar, so when I asked for a Bloody Mary even though it wasn’t on the menu I thought I’d probably get a slap! Instead, the awesome bartender, Steven, said it wouldn’t be a problem… and even apologised for not having any Worcestershire sauce! The drink was amazing, the service spectacular, and the decor was done in a way that you could probably enjoy a romantic meal for two in the evening, or come back later on a Friday or Saturday to dance the night away with friends until 4am. Oh and Sunday night is Salsa night… what a shame I only had the one day in The Hague!
If you’re a fan of great cocktails (click here to see their cocktail menu!) & sexy interior design I’d definitely suggest ending a day trip to The Hague at Havana Den Haag!
Lots of love,
